Shrine of St. John Neumann
The National Shrine of St. John Neumann is located within St. Peter the Apostle Church, the first Redemptorist church consecrated in the United States in 1847. This sacred site houses the incorrupt remains of St. John Neumann, the fourth Bishop of Philadelphia and the first American male saint to be canonized. The shrine has served as a place of pilgrimage for over 160 years, where visitors can walk on holy ground and encounter this humble saint who dedicated his life to God's people.
